Add a Type to my JAA in America???

Has anyone done this?

I hold a ATP and a full ATPL - finished up last December in Oslo.

As you all know - NO JOBS IN EUROPE! But I got hired in America flying EMB175's. The company is giving all new hires a type rating sometime in the next couple of months. I thought how great it would be to find a JAA Qualified examiner to sit in and I could get the type on both certificates!

Mine is through the UK...calling the CAA is not my favorite activity so thought I would ping you all to save myself some headaches.

You can't do it unless the TRTO holds a JAR/EASA validation. The sim needs a cert and a whole manner of other stuff.

Once you have some time on the machine you can then get it converted onto a JAR lic but its not cheap.
