Help me find this aircraft

Hi all. I am searching for the Grumman Albatross. Does anyone know any companies still using them or anywhere to do a rating for one. I know there is no real benefit for the rating I'm just looking to fly or even to be flown in one because i just love this aircraft so much and would sell my girlfriend to fly one, ha only joking........ well.... lets just say we could talk. Sorry If this is in the wrong forum I didn't know where else to put it. Any help would be fantastic. Iv noticed a lot of people on these forums only log on to give out to other people and belittle them so i hope i haven't given any ammo to them. but for any aviation enthusiasts i would be forever grateful for any help you could give me tracing this beautiful aircraft.

Cheers

Unfortunately for you, Chalks Airways went bust 6 years ago and I don't know of any other operators

I just remembered that Red Bull operates one, so does Billabong, and also Quicksilver.
All three registered in the US.

An inflight Internet company also operates one in California as its testbed.

Check out the Survivors section. Looks like Billabong and Quicksilver operate one in Australia for surf tours. The rest seem to be military operated

3Bars, those military ones are all static displays, at least in the US.

Albatross Type Rating

Hi Dan,

If you are really interested in a type rating or a demo flight in an Albatross, let me know. There are several still operating but only a couple that will do flight training. You can reach me at [email protected] or 702-580-0193.

Thanks

Ray
