Question Fokker 50 info.

Can anyone give me any information on the Fokker 50?

Tech info. anything on the type rating, actually any information at all would be greatly received!

Cheers,

I've got some stuff but only in hardcopy form - from the tech info on the engines, to the hydraulic system & landing gear. Although this came from a Fokker 50 familiarisation course, some of the info is lifted from the type rating manual I believe.

Let me know if this might be useful.

Wink

Do you have an interview with KLMuk ??

I used to fly these about 6 years ago, nice aircraft .... here's some info ...

Its a modernized F27, basically the same aerodynamically although the F50 wing has tiny winglets and the structure uses a fair proportion of composites in the construction.
They ditched the old RR Darts and put PW's on it with 6 bladed carbon fibre props. These make it extreemly quite in the cabin, hence the term 'Prop Jet' Fokker used.

The major difference is in the flight deck, the F50 has an EFIS fit with electronic engine controllers.

Some facts :

MTOW 20800Kg
Max Alt 25000'
Engines PW125B twin spool
Fuel Load 4160Kg
Vmo 224Kt decreasing to 200Kt at 25000'
Seating for 50 PAX

I hope this is usefull ......

Cheers for the replies! Keep 'em coming.

Miss Bigglesworth anything you can do for me will be more than useful. There are a few links I have found on the web, but they are not much of substance. Interesting though for someone like me who knows nothing about this aircraft.

Unfortunately I have not been offered anything by KLM UK other than the standard PFO’s. If all goes according to plan though it won’t matter! I have tentatively been offered a job with an operator, but it really depends on what happens with them as to whether I start flying or not.

Any other offers of employment will be more than welcome in the mean time though!
