Question about night flight time...

Hello to everyone!
I have a JAA ppl, in order to build some flight time, I went to an ICAO country, let's say Korea to get some price advantages. When I got Korea and after converting my JAA ppl to ICAO ppl, I found out that here, having a PPL itīs possible to fly at night as VFR. So I did, with a safety pilot, logging the time as PIC.
Now, that Iīm about coming back to my country, Iīve been reading again the JAR FCL 1 and it states that the requirements for the expedition of the cPL license are at least 5 hours of night flight, which I did here. Somehow, in Spain, flying at night was impossible because the airports didn't operated VFR flights at night, so my PPL license doesnīt have any night endorsement.
-Do you thing the JAA authority would accept this time as night flight?
-They would accept this time towards the 200 hours for the CPL?
-Should I have signed up 3 hours as Dual time?

In Korea, following the Annex 1 of ICAO, they donīt have any night endorsement in the PPL license, I already talked with the korean school.

Thanks to everyone!
Happy landings!

Did you actually convert your licence and were issued a licence or was it issued based on your JAA licence?

Thank you for your answer.

I convert it entirely. So, it's an original Korean PPL license, without any restrictions and so on...

Hi Mackey2,
A long time ago, I obtained my FAA PPL, which includes a Night rating.
I flew, without safety pilot, over 40 hours of night flight and had no problem when I applied for my JAR CPL, here in the UK.
Hope that helps. If in doubt, just ring or email your local authority.

Thank you so much for your asnwer!!

Calling them it's just scary!

I guess there shouldn't be too much problem with it... but just in case, I would like to know the opinion of my fellows!

Good flights!

Macky

The 'opinions' of others on these pages have no authority and are, in the main, just that - opinions!

However if you ring the CAA / licencing authority then you will get a definitive answer!

Definitely, that's right.

I already flew in other countries and I didn't have problems with the flight time, just I wanted to know if someone could have been in a situation similar as mine.

Thanks!
