Hello,
Redhill is actually a nice airfield, with a few grass runways and an unlicensed runway, which is actually a taxiway, it is used when the grass runways are unavailable, pending some operational requirements. You have Gatwick just around the corner and there is also alot of heli movements from Redhill. An interesting place to fly from.
You can also check some flying schools from Biggin Hill.
Is it just for a trial lesson or are you intending in doing flying training in the future?

If you are not restricted to just South London, Stapleford to the North East, just south of Stansted airport is also a good place. Also a good occasion to have a look around the school which I am sure has improved even more since my PPL days...
(no I don't work for them, but I do think it's a very valid establishment)
