Night Qualification - US hours building

Hi there

Just a quick query: I have recently completed my night qualification here in UK... Will I be able to take advantage of it in the US as part of my hours building, or do you further require an Instrument Rating to fly at night in the States?

Many thanks

no IR required to fly at night in the US. a PPL is sufficient as long as you have night privileges. a FAA PPL includes night privilege if you have the required night training, or else your licence will have a restriction.

i recommend that you checkout FAR 61.110
FAR Part 61 Sec. 61.110 effective as of 09/01/2004
