CPL Hours Requirements

Hi Everyone. I have a few quick questions regarding CPL hour requirements.

1) Do I need to have 100 P1 hours before commencing the CPL course?

2) Can I effectively build up (for instance) 98 hours P1, and assuming a successful CPL skills test pass the 2 (or so) P1S hours gained during the test count towards the 100 required for license issue?

Thanks in advance.

Ignore that snotty response from madcowdisease, he is part of the arrogant posters you find on here.

To commence a multi engine CPL you require 70 hours P1 and 150 hours total time, however for licence issue you require 100 hours P1 and 200 hours total time.

You are correct in your second statement, but beware because if you were to partial the CPL your hours would be PUT not P1S therefore on partial retake you would only get, for example 30 mins of P1S time.

If you do wish to read LASORS (section D) the link is here

Although I know at least one schoold who insist on 100 P1 BEFORE starting their CPL/IR - no exceptions. (And if bad Wx during hour building meant I only had 98 hours P1 on my start date? - then I'd have to postpone the CPL until I got the 100 P1).

I went elsewhere with my cheque for £20k. Silly people.

It depends on what their training manual states. If their training manual states 100 hours pre course then they have to require it, they can't bend the rules.

They could always amend their Training Manual
