Can you believe this!
Daily Mail, Tuesday July 3rd.
Clearing tables in an airport departure lounge cafe worker Dario Mazzieri gazed in wonder at the aircraft taking off. After a series of poorly paid jobs earning £35 a week as a machine operator his career finally took off when he secured a job as an airline steward with airtours. Remarkably, he was able to work his way from the aisle to the cockpit and after ten years achieved his dream of being captain at the age of 33. In 1994 whilst an airline steward he enrolled on a scheme designed to fast track employees to positions of responsibilty within the company. Within 30 months he had graduated flying school and become a co-pilot. Yesterday the transformation was complete when he was promoted to Captain.

still got more goes left to go, b.a. isn't the only outfit worth flying for, and for the rest of us too old for c.e.p., and not of the ideal background, it's worth a whole lot more.
