Does a coastal school influence your decision on where to train
How much importance would you place on choosing a school if the choice was between one at the coast and another one inland, specifically where you are going to a residential school?
If a school had two bases, one inland for the initial training and theory and you were then moved to the coastal base for your IF training and multi training plus CPL prep, would this be attractive or would you still try to find a school that only has a coastal base, assuming you answer the first question as a coastal school having high importance and attraction?

Or Option 3, the school that has a combination of the best results, best reviews from students and least distractions. It's only a few months of your life where you really have to knuckle down.

You won't have the time or the energy for surfing ....
Personally, I dislike seaside towns ... full of grockles and tourists so I'd prefer inland.
Cheers

Assuming that this is a serious question based on the predicted weather in S. Africa (inland or coastal) I would suggest that initial training would be best done inland assuming that is where there will be a better weather factor.
However, as indicated above, the record of results - and YOUR 'feel' for the school during your inspection - ae equally important. They are going to be taking your money and you want to ensure that you achieve your aim in the most efficient manner whilst enjoying the process. It is hard work but it doesn't need to be a bad experience.

Coastal locations are excellent for Nav. - half blue, half brown helps beat initial nerves!
I agree with L'aviateur; in theory absolutely correct.
Best results? You can only get this from the FTO. The CAA will not confirm or deny figures - 'commercially sensitive'. A painfully inadequate position for an entity which should be promoting public reassurance through transparency and service.
Best reviews? You can only get these from the FTO. The best way is word of mouth from someone who has been there. Look him/her in the eye as they answer and make your own judgement.
Fewest distractions? Most FTOs have their accommodation well away from the fleshpots - keeps the costs down.
