American Flight Training Schools - Need Info

Hey,

Does anyone have any experience of the Integrated Pilot Training Programme in an American Pilot Training College. I was strongly considering completing the course through PTC, Waterford, Ireland but when I looked up a few colleges life Naples & Orlando the cost comparison is huge and you can complete JAA training in both of these colleges so no need to convert licence when I get back to Europe.

Are there any other hidden charges with Amercian Pilot Training Colleges?

Would really appreciate some help on this as I'm a complete novice!

Thanks,

D

You got me a little confused here, Aeronautical University (like Embry Riddle) with a 4 year degree or are you looking for a flightschool?
If you're looking for a flight school is it for FAA or JAA training or both?
Lotsa ways that we can help you if you give us a little bit more info to work with.

Hey,

Thanks for the prompt response B2N2. I'm looking to complete a JAA Integrated Course to become an airline pilot. I have no previous flight experience so I'm very sketchcy on where's the best place to look for info.

I see that Naples in Florida do a combined JAA & FAA Program to become an airline pilot. They also do a JAA Program on its own to become an airline pilot. What would the benefit of me completing a combined JAA & FAA Program compared to a JAA Program on its own?

Would you recommend any flight school to complete the training in a cost effective manner? Oh, I've also heard of Orlando Flight School through the grapevine! Both Naples & Orlando seem a lot cheaper than the European options for JAA airline pilot programs.

Hope this is a bit more info for you to work on.

OK, well, it seems we have some educating to do.
You have come to (mostly) the right place.
Some posters have a chip on their shoulder and would turn in their grave every time somebody would mention "training in the USA"
Fact is, FAA training followed by JAA conversion is cheaper then JAA training only in Europe.

Do not, I repeat, do NOT only consider the JAA "establishments" in the USA.
You can do your FAA training with anybody and your JAA conversion afterwards.
Do a good search on the JAA "establishments" on this forum. They were all recently mentioned in a thread. If you want some more details, PM me pls.
