Vortex gen / APU question

Hey Guys,

Would anyone be able to provide me with an accurate answer as to why we have vortex generators in front of an APU inlet?

Appreciate any help!

VG's control the boundary layer flow of air. This is probably to smooth/conform the air flow for the APU inlet.

Vortex generators re-energise the boundary layer and help prevent the flow from breaking away from the surface.

I presume the VG are there to ensure that the APU intake isn't prone to "stalling" with changes in wind strength and direction.
