Canada?

I'd be interested in knowing why you believe Canada is the best place to do pilot training?

There is much more consistency with the flight schools for one thing. You will also always get a standard ride from a TC inspector or a DFTE. Such is not the case in Europe.

In addition, the training is a nice balance between operational requirements and technical kmowledge. Other systems are too biased one way or the other.

From what I hear (I have no direct experience), the same comments would apply to New Zealand or Australia.

Harv's Air

Great standard of instruction, beautifully maintained aircraft, perfect weather (in summer mind, winter is rather chilly!) cheap rates (perhaps the cheapest in the world?) good accommodation, and Steinbach is a hole which means no distractions (and no booze!)!! Seriously, a great school, I did some hours building there last year and it couldn't have been much better, I plan to return soon.

Pete McLeod (Red Bull Air Race pilot) got his PPL and CPL there!

Aishwarya,

Don't feel discouraged by what am about to tell you, but for the time being avoid entering this profession with a ten-foot pole.

The Aviation sector in India (and globally too) isn't excitingly brilliant at the moment. Having just about survived a global economic meltdown and a sharp decline in passenger traffic, Airlines are slowly recovering the humongous losses that they consistently suffered over the past two years, after passenger traffic growth has been slowly heading northwards on the Graph.

This translates to an almost non-existent hiring trend, over the past two years and even as we speak. Jobs (for a fresh CPL holder with abt 250-300 Hrs of TT) are hard to come by - infact none since early last year when Air India hired.

That coupled with a swelling number of unemployed CPL holders - 3000-3500 at last count, is not exactly what I'd term "conducive" to a fruitful aviation career!

So if I were you I'd hold onto the "Childhood Dream" for a few more years and get into something that I'm already qualified in (which in your case is IT).
