US Visa needed for recurrency training?

Hello all,

I've been looking into whether I need a visa to enter the U.S. for the purpose of an OPC sim recurrency. I am a British passport holder, so was wondering whether I could enter under the Visa Waiver Program - After all, it only be for a couple of days and I'm not training for any new qualification.

Does anyone have any experiences of this? I've read a lot of conflicting info.

Thanks

When I go to the US for recurrent training, I travel on a B1/B2 visa.

You will find that companies such as Flight Safety do not have approval to support M1 visa applications, yet they have a huge number of Europeans doing type ratings and recurrent training.

Last time i went, it was on a visa waiver with TSA approval.

All recurrent in the USA too - all done with a B1 (standard business/tourist) visa - basically the same as a visa waiver so no problem for you. As said you need the TSA clearance otherwise the 'training provider' wont be allowed to start you on the recurrent.
