My perspective is only from the US. Short answer: doesn't matter.
A degree shows an airline that you are able to complete and succeed in a structured learning environment. You know how to prioritize and apply your knowledge.
I have a degree in Aeronautical Science. I do not believe it gave me any advantage over my colleagues at the airline who had a degree in Finance, Nutrition, or Astrology.
It may different from where you are from. Contact someone at an airline and ask.

If you want to be a pilot don't do an engineering degree.
1. You'll realise how much more you could earn as an engineer over being a pilot.
2. You'll have to work your nuts off to learn a lot of stuff that as a pilot you'll never really use.
