Job Opportunities
Im not going to ask about jobs at the moment because I know that currently there are none, but in terms of the future how will i know when the market is better and there are more opportunities out there?
I know there is a sticky thread here entitled 'growing evidence the upturn is upon us' but it is ridiculously long now and so i find it very hard to get any info from it.
Are there any other good websites, or threads on here that will give me a good indication that things may be getting better in the airline industry?
I am currently studying for my ATPL's and will then commence modular training which i intend to complete by the beginning of Jan 2011, anyone got any idea if this timing will be ok?
Replies much appreciated

You will know the market is better because there will be jobs out there. You will know there are jobs out there because all the moaners on this forum will suddenly go quiet beacuse they are too busy updating CVs. A certain airline has put a recent advert out and of course not a hoot about it on here. I suggest you constantly check for jobs on recruiters sites and use this as your measure, as opposed to this forum.

I think that is also why a whole lot of people start training at the moment, even though the outlook for the next few years is cr@p.
All it takes is another big bank to hit the ground, or some warlord (read: president ) throw a bomb on someone elses territory, and all changes yet again.
Scientists could discover a new, totally green and efficient way of powering cars next week. All would change yet again.
Truth is, people can't even predict what's gonna happen next week, let alone in 2011

True words. He who waits for the perfect weather never sows. if you can afford it, go ahead and be ready. Opportunity is for the prepared. Won't help if we waited for it before we start preparing. Live ready.
