JAA Renewal

Quick question for you guys. I converted to JAA licenses about a year ago. It will be soon time for me to renew my CPL and IR. I don't plan to move back to Europe. I really did the conversion as a backup plan. What if I don't renew my CPL and IR? What would happen? Could I still renew it let say in 5 years if I needed it? Any recommendations? Thank you in advance for your inputs.

Be carefull after a number of years you may have to redo your IR , try and keep it current if you intend flying in the near future . Check the LASORS I do remember seeing it in there.
