When do I have to finish my ATPL exams?
I miss the FAA! I am new to the JAA and am doing my ATPLs distance learning.
I took the first ATPL(A) exams on 6 October 2008.
I have now passed 8 exams and need the final 6.
When must I pass the final exam? I seem to remember that I must complete it within 18 months, but I couldn't find it in LASORS.
If it is 18 months, that would mean that I must pass the last exam no later than April 30 2010 (Nov 08, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr)?
And I have 36 months to complete the CPL and IR starting from the end of the month that I pass the last ATPL exam (e.g. hypothetically starting from Feb 2010)?
Or, is it 36 months from the pass of the first ATPL exam (i.e. Oct 2008)?
Gosh, all these dates to keep an eye on.
Thanks for the help.

It's in LASORS.
You must pass by the April 2010 sitting. You then have three years.

Yes, for the last exam it should be 18 months from the day you do your first seating. Otherwise, you'll have to do everything since the begining. For the CPL/IR, it's 36 months from the date you finish your ATPL, I guess from the date you'll obtain you're last exam.

Just don't fail any in April though! might be worth pushing it and sitting them in March just to be safe. Then April is a safety net to sweep up any resits if needs be...just a thought
