I used it a few years ago.

I only new I was in the actual exam because I had a pencil in my hand not a mouse and a Kit Kat!

What I am trying to say is the database seems very good, it also gets your exam technique upto speed and prepares you for the weird and wonderful ways in which fairly basic concepts can be made quite difficult with the addition of a few words and some odd grammer.

The Bristol notes are excellent so a run through them followed by pleantly of revision using their QB seems to do the trick for most of us.

Good Luck

Bristol Data bank Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did my Distance learning with Oxford but when it came to doing the exams the questions on the bristol question bank were spot on!
For example i only needed to do 13 exams ATPL(H) but decided to do the extra 2 fixed wing ones as well.
I started studying for P of F (A) the week before the exam and the Performance exam 4 days before the exam.
With the help of Bristols question bank alongside the Oxford books i passed both 93% average.

I know people who were maintaining a 100% average with the help of Bristol's questions

This has actually been debated many times here. Try the seach function

Bristol might be spot on if you take you exam in UK. But in other JAA countries it is not spot on at all. I have read feedback stating everything from 30% match to 99% match.
Another problem with bristol is that it has uses a fix version of the syllabus. Again fine if you do it in UK because its the same. Not so fine if you do it in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and others that uses a completely different version.
Yes, you can switch database with Bristol, but it does not tell you which syllabus it uses.

Before you praise it to heaven do yourself a favour and try the alternatives like aviationexam.com and jaaqb.com... they are also a lot cheaper...

flyingexam.com mate. £20 cheaper than Bristol for a better question bank with a better user interface. 99% of my actual exam question were on it.

I can't really comment on any others but as a lot have said above, Bristol.GS OLQB, Notes,Feedback etc etc are Hot, I passed all of them first time and with a very good average as well.

Just for clarity, the UK CAA are using an edited version of CQB13 with extra questions imported from CQB14 and, they say, questions which will be in CQB 15 added in where they match the old syllabus. Many/most other JAA states are now using CQB14 and the new syllabus with questions on topics such as CPDLC etc. In some cases the raw database is being used (Greece), including questions which have been around for years but not generally used, such as the 030 questions on the long range jet LRJT1. In other cases an edited version of CQB14 is being used. The German LBA, uniquely, add in extra questions from outside the CQBs, something they shouldn't do.

The UK have started to use again some of the questions which they agreed were unsuitable years ago. It now seems that not all of of the appeal questions from earlier databases were passed on to the JAA as these defective questions are still in CQB14. My guess would be that the UK deleted them from their local database three, four, five years ago, didn't tell the JAA about them, and have recently re-imported them from CQB14 thinking they're new questions.

One of the interesting features of CQB14 is that it includes batches of near identical questions on the same topic - sometimes more than fifteen near identical questions - the idea being, presumably, to frustrate people who are just trying to remember questions rather than learn the material properly in the first place. As expected, some of the new CQB14 questions are poorly validated and have incorrect answers marked as correct but generally they're not bad.

Like the other providers, we try to match the database to the state but it's quite difficult to get it exactly right as the individual Authorities are not about to tell us exactly which questions they are using. I've no idea what will happen when EASA take over properly, in principle everyone should use the same database with no additions. This should be CQB15, but no-one really seems to know when or if CQB15 will be issued.
