Quick question JAA IR(H)
Hi there,
I was wondering if somebody knows the exact JAA numbers of the relevant exams for the JAA IR(H).
I'm holding a JAA CPL(H), and I just started with the distance course for the IR.
I did my CPL in Germany a while ago, and now I will do the IR exams in Gatwick.
For some reason the subjects are a little different in the UK than in Germany. (I know it shouldn't be like that, but it is.)
I'm a little confused now about what to learn.....
Does anybody know the exact JAA numbers (010, 062....etc)
For some reason my school can't give me the exact numbers.....
Cheers
DL

Ah, the question bank. As you know, we don't recommend it until you're nearly ready for the exams, so you can spot the mistakes, but here are the numbers from JAR FCL 2.470:
010 Air Law
021 AGK
022 Instrumentation
033 Flight Planning & Monitoring
040 Human performance
050 Met
060 Nav Gen
062 Radio Nav
092 IFR Comms
However, LASORS combines air law with ops (which isn't listed) and only mentions Gen Nav (where Radio Nav is listed). LASORS also lists Flt Performance & Planning (which isn't listed in JAR FCL) and doesn't mention Instrumentation.
Here is their list:
Air Law/Operational Procedures
Aircraft General Knowledge
Flight Performance & Planning
Human Performance & Limitations (not with CPL(H) already held)
Meteorology
Navigation
Communications (IFR)
Go figure. I gave up and wrote my own syllabus.

Thanks Phil,
so it IS confusing, and it's not just me
I was just trying to figure out what exactly I have to sit. G-Nav and R-Nav? Instrumentation or not? Ops and Law in one exam?
Even the CAA didn't give me an answer........
Cheers

Logically, RNAV would have to be in there, as should instruments. Interestingly there has been a recent emphasis on piston engines. Ops and law will be one exam. However, there is no Mass & balance so you won't have to deal with the TETH
