Differences between US & UK study coarse

Hi
On a recent visit to the US my wife bought a "King Flight School" PPL Taining coarse on 8 DVD's as a present. I'd be grateful if you can tell me if there is any difference learning to fly using this coarse as it would be learning to fly with a UK course, before I tell her to take it back and get a refund.

Thanks a lot.

Michael.
