Smile ATPL Exams at Oxford Aviation Academy

For anyone who is not resident at Oxford Aviation and are hoping to sit their ATPL Exams there please avoid getting caught out by Oxford Airports new parking system. The CAA did not advise of the change and the signage in the car parks does not make it clear that "non Oxford students" need to pay the daily rate (£5). When I sat my Mod 1 exams in Oct'08 no such system was in existence.

I assumed (wrongly) that once my registration had been passed at the main gate my vehicle was cleared for the day whilst I attended my ATPL exams. Having just paid a fine of £75 (well in fact £106.50 from the car hire company inc. admin fee) I would like to see others not get caught out in the future, whilst Oxford Aviation themselves have also agreed to try to ensure students are aware that car parking fees are due.
