Which way to go?
I've just started my rotary training and I was after any advice about how to go about theory and flying etc etc. I want to knock theory out of the way ASAP but still fly every now and then and once I have all my exams down I will then plow through with hours. Is this a sensible COA?
Any thoughts or personal experience advice would be much appreciated

Have you read the replies to your other threads?
If you have started training, then you must have enrolled with a school and they will be able to advise about theory.
Are you talking PPL or integrated CPL? I'm afraid the lack of detail and lack of knowledge of the training system makes me think that you're a long way off starting any rotary training.
And rotary training for what? 'Cos there's no work at the moment.

Integrated = ab-initio, starting from scratch immediately into CPL theory and flying. Full-time, expensive.
Modular = get PPL first, hour build and study for CPL/ATPL exams. Part-time and cheaper.
I'd be surprised if Australia didn't have both types of training.

I'm doing integrated. Though i've never heard of it being described that way. I've been advised PPL isn't worth the time and money. There is no GST tax on commercial training in Australia, there is on Private. Plus it's cheaper to buy hours in set blocks.

I did my PPL in South Africa and decided to carry on with the CPL here in Australia. I asked my FTO if getting the CPL exams out of the way first, then flying was a good idea and was told that it's perfectly fine. Best part about it is that i'm almost done with the theory side so now the real fun starts. I don't think you could go wrong either way.
