Any UK Dash-8 type rating venues?

Hi there,

Searched the forum and google but I cant find any UK Dash 8 type rating courses. Anyone know of any venues and how much they charge?

There's CAE, but they're in Spain and Ive asked for a quote. Interested to see if there is any in the UK. Look for a not so expensive but good quality course.

Regards.

Thanks very much.

I rang them up. For anyone else who may be reading this in the future looking for the same piece of information - the cost of their Dash 8 type rating at the time of writing is £14500 +VAT which works to £16675 inc VAT (15%).

Im not sure if my email got through to CAE, does anyone have the cost of their type rating handy by any chance?

thanks.

I myself looking is for a dash 8/300 sim in England at the moment. Type rated already but need to arrange a skills test in the sim to complete my conversion. Is CAE the only option i have? How does it work with the CAA and examiners dealing with the skills test? Anyone's done a skills test outside of the UK let say in spain?

Sorry cant help Greensman.

An email from CAE regarding Dash-8 type rating course:

An Standard Type Rating Course costs 24,000€ per trainee but depending on your curriculum and expertise, some Entry Level Training could be required or Remedial training after the course (aprox. extra 2,000€-4,000€)
That sounds like a type rating cost for a Boeing or an Airbus as I would have immagined there is a reasonable difference in price between a turboprop a jet rating course.

Anyway, have to put it this way, where is the cheapest place one can get a Dash-8 rating? (I dont believe cheapest is always the worst, sometimes can be better) But money is an issue for me obviously. Thanks.

Try Flybe who can do you the whole package inc the base check.
You pay for what you get!!

Greensman
There is no Q300 sim in the UK. Nearest is FSI at Paris (Le Bourget)

Ok, so even without a job position with them, they run training services? In that case, would you (or anyone) be able to advise me if there is anyone or any contact info I need to find out more? Thanks.

silly question

but why are you looking to pay for a dash 8 TR?

are you planning on getting a job in the uk? I can only think of 3 dhc8 operators in the uk and none of them seem like the place to give jobs to pay to fly people.
