British licenses or certificates

Hello,

A friend of mine is asking what is the organization
issuing pilot's licenses in Great Britain. Are they
issued solely by the CAA ?

A quick googling did not give results, so your answer is appreciated!

Funny that, a quick google gave this result,
Pilot licensing in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

but of course this is Wikipedia and can be inaccurate so maybe better to ask around.

I always thought you could get on in a Christmas cracker.

Thanks found that also.
My friend had info, that there might be some
private organization issuing the licenses.

Maybe the crackers or fortune cookies then

So far as I know, the only organisation in the UK, apart from the CAA, issuing licences is at NPPL

That said, the Wikipedia entry seems pretty much spot on to me.
