It's not a rating, it's a qualification. Ratings needs renewing. All the night qual does is adds a sentence on your license which says "may be exercised at night".

More choice where you are to be honest, and you can knock it out in a couple of evenings so my advice would be to do it before you move. The school at Cardiff went tits up before Christmas, but I know Haverfordwest can do it.

Have a PPL too considering doing the night qualification. What does it involve? Is it demanding?

Are you training to be a professional pilot? I stand corrected, but i think if you do the IR then you don`t need a night rating. i`m not sure. But anyway, u can get it done for as little as £500 and is a very short short course (5 hrs) so not much to lose. And also consider that every hour you fly with a flight instructor is a beneficial hr. Best of luck
