Exemption from the VFR Comms Exam?

Hi

Can anyone tell me , if you have passed the J.A.A CPL exams and now want to do the ATPL's are you exempt the VFR Comms exam. Looked in LASORs and can't seem to find it, also e-mailed the CAA with no reply as yet.

Cheers in anticipation

Dunno but it's a Mickey Mouse exam anyway. If you spend more than 3 minutes in the exam room, something's gone horribly wrong

The CAA will charge you an obscene amount for those 3 minutes though!

Common sense says combine the VFR and IFR comms exams...but then they wouldn't get two revenue streams would they?

Sorry for not helping at all with your question but these replies should at least keep the thread alive!

I'll be quiet now.

Acceoted the VFR comms exam is a bit of a non-entity, but you can't combine the VFR and IFR comms for the CPL side of things.....believe it or not there are many many pilots out their who hold a CPL (or BCPL) but have no intention whatsoever of flying under IFR.

Now if you're saying drop the VFR comms written from the CPL exams now that's a different story. Can't recall if there was much difference between PPL and CPL for this exam.
