G1000 Trainer For the PC....

Hi all,

Does anyone happen to know how to get hold of a PC trainer for a G1000?

I used the search and somone mentioned you can buy it off the Garmin site for $3.99. I've had a good dig around but no joy...

Also does anyone knoe of a Diamond Twinstar add on with the G1000 for FS2004? I looked at one by a company called Abacus but the G1000 looked 'not all that'!!

Many thanks in advance

The abacus DA42 is not bad but, as you say the G1000 is ...well, not G1000. However there is a downloadable G1000 by a company called Mindstar aviation. It costs, but is well worth it. Everything functions as per the real G1000, except that it shows thrust as Manifold pressure not percentage.

Regards

Thanks for the pointers so far.....

The mindstar aviation add on panel for FS2004/x does not work on windows Vista. Any guesses what my PC runs on!
It does look the business though for anyone wanting G1000 practice not running on Vista.

The Mindstar Aviation version *does* work on Vista, you just have to ask for a special download.

I had never flown a G1000 aircraft so I downloaded the above program. It really helped as I only flew the D42 twice before renewing my IR and MEP on it.
