Just a quick one- Oxford Open Day Seminar-6th December

Hi All!

Just a quick question. I have booked up to one of OAA's open days on the 6th of December. It'll be my first visit to a 'proper' flight training school and I just want to get the jist of all whats on offer, have a look around, meet staff, students and A/C etc and was wondering what I should wear?

Sure enough its just an open day, but if there were 'potential employers' there should i consider wearing black trousers and shirt or just wear my jeans and go as myself? I'll be driving a fair few miles to get there and dont want to end up standing out like a sore thumb. OAA didn't state any dress code.

I'd go for smart casual - I wouldn't bother with a suit. Shirt/jumper/trousers? Something like that. I doubt you'll run into any potential employers there. Don't worry too much about standing out.

Remember - you're the customer and they're after your business!

I'd smarten up for the assessment though (if you choose to do it).

An ex-OAA student,

Wear smart casual to the Open Day. Wear body armor when asking about OAA on here.

splashbrooke- are you doing the APP First Officer or Waypoint? I see your only 18, same age as me. How are you able to afford it?

I would be very interested to hear what Oxford are saying in relation to the timing of training/employment in Europe and their much spouted 'global pilot shortage' especially considering the global economic meltdown we have now faced. Forget the dresscode, turn up in a bin bag if you want. If Oxford are after your money, they won't be caring what you are wearing. Ask some very direct questions. You are considering handing over in excess of 70K in some very challenging times. See through the marketing speel, because it can be very clever at times.
