Vertical Separation Minima / VSM

Hi ....I am studying law section for irish atpl exams...getting several figures in question banks about seperation above fl290....1000, 2000 and also 4000ft....

which is correct...or if all are correct what is the difference?!?!

If memory serves me,if your non RVSM you need 2000ft vertical seperation at or above FL 290. Below its just 1000ft.
In RVSM its 1000ft from FL 0 to FL410. Above that its 2000ft again.

DX is right

a/c were expected to maintain 2000' seperation due to altimeter errors on traditional instruments, however since commercial a/c now have much more acurate altimeters RVSM equipped a/c can reduce seperation to 1000'

Am sure that your trigger slipped deltaxray. RVSM is from FL290 to FL410.
