CPL in Australia

Hi,

I'm an English guy in Australia studying for my PPL and am considering taking the plunge and going for my CPL as well.

Once that's completed I would like to train for an instructors rating and hopefully get a job doing just that.

I was wondering if anyone can give me a idea of how easy (or hard) it is for an English guy to get a job in Australian aviation? Also, are the licences recognised in England and if not what needs to be done.

Thanks in advance.

A search would answer most of these questions.

Any way, I'm in a good mood.
You can work in Australia if you have the correct visa. If you do, then the only barrier to getting a job is yourself.

Regarding the licence recognition, PPL no problem, any thing else requires a conversion. Going from a CASA lic to a JAA/EASA lic equals repeating all 14 ATPL exams and doing a fair bit of flying, more so if you don't have an instrument rating.

More about it in LASORS on the CAA's site.

Redsnail,

Thanks for the advice. I'm glad you were in a decent mood.

Cheers.
