Gaining an ATPL

Hi there,

Am new to this forum, so apologies if this is in the incorrect section!

A simple question really, what is necessary to gain an ATPL. For instance, do you approach a company who will train you from start to finish? Do you require a PPL first before gaining an ATPL?

Many thanks

Welcome.

It may be worth having a read of the sticky post 'read before posting a question', lots of good stuff in there.

In a nutshell you need 1500hrs of flying time, which is broke down into specific criteria dictated by the CAA, and theorectical exams passed. This licence gives you the privleges to be a commander of a multi-crew aircraft.
