OFT

Hey everyone, this is my first post.

Little bit of info about myself first.

Im 22yrs old and have been into flying since a very young age.

I have around 20 hrs of flying time already under my belt but no PPL or exams taken. this was due to school exams and after i finnished them the flying school went down hill and closed.

I've decided to go modular through cabair.

first part will be at OFT in Florida to get my PPL and hrs building.

Has anyone got any experience of the place?

i usualy go to florida with family on vacation every year so know the area well.

I've requested student accomodation. Is the accomodation any good? ie own private bedroom and bathroom or would i be best to stay at the hotel down the road.

really looking forward to getting out to start this in feb.

cheers

Ian

Have you checked the prices of other flying schools in the UK? With the value of the dollar coming down I wouldn't imagine there would be much difference between the costs, infact many are starting to look at South Africa.

Have you looked at Inverness? they are charging £4,600 for the full PPL course.

I agree with Preduk. A thousand pound +/- won't make a difference.

you could try sunstate at the other side of KISM. Nice new planes, friendly guys, bit more expensive but good availability especially the g1000 172's.

I believe cabair use g1000 twinstars for their commercial training, can't hurt to get experience on the g1000 beforehand.
