Hi SD,
I presume your aiming for comm? It is possible to do but as a forigner you will find it extremely difficult to get a work permit for SA. There are tons of local guys out there with low hours who are looking for jobs. I lived in Joburg for the better part of 10 years and I had to leave because I couldnt get a work permit. This does not mean, if your aiming for comm, that you can't do some hour building in SA. Its a wonderful place to fly and fairly easy to validate a Canadian PPL. You might find this forum a little more helpfull as it is more geared toward aviation in SA. AvCom - Your Aviation Community
Sorry to bust your bubble.
