Cabair Manuals

Hi. Are the Cabair ATPL manuals any good? Might pick up a cheap set for early reference before fully embarking on the course early next year (which will most probable be with BGS). Thought the Cabair ones might be useful for extra reference later though help to get me up to speed while completing the PPL

hey, the cabair manuals are pretty good, actually they're really good, pretty much the same as the jeppesen, straight forward clear precise, good diagrams & pictures. The way I did it I used the cabair manuals first then used a variety opf jeppessen n oxford cbt software for areas like gen nav.

If you are going to end up at Bristol you'll need the Bristol notes later so does it really matter how good they are as long as they are reasonably cheap? I believe they will have had to have been approved by the CAA (anyone confirm this?) so the content should be there and they've got people through in the past so they'll be fine to get you started at the very least. Besides, now the data base is available on line, the way the notes are written doesn't matter that much, you can make sure you are learning what you should by testing yourself on websites like 2go.aero etc.
I'm using the old PPSC JAA notes to tide me over until I get the Bristol notes and PPSC closed its doors 6-7 years ago so they are going to be well out of date but the basic information never changes.

I have just bought a set of 2008 Cabair books to be looking through and give me a head start. I am planning to start the mod course next year, so thought £115 was a good investment.
