JAA PPL+JAA ATPL. Rest in the US?

I was thinking of taking a Swedish JAA PPL+JAA ATPL.
However, i'm considering taking the rest, CPL ME IR NR, in the US (or maybe South Africa).

What must i think about when i do it this way?
For example, must i do it in a JAA school in the US or can i do it in a school that only does FAA?
Must i convert something to be able to do it this way?

I'd appreciate answers.

Thanks!

Regards
