Aero Madrid Flight School, any preferences?

Aero Madrid Flight School, any preferences?
Hi!
I'm new to this forum, and got tipped by another forum member to try the question here. So, im trying to find a good flight school where i can take my professional pilot license. One school i came across was AeroMadrid. Its in, you guessed it, Madrid, Spain. I am from Norway, and figured out that taking the licence in europe wold be a great advantage. So, does anyone know how this school is?

I did my PPL there 4 years ago and they were fine. However, there is currently a thread about them in the spanish forum, I don't know if you speak spanish but below is a fairly typical quote of the sentiments....

Lo mismo te digo compañero, es muy triste pero te recomiendo q no vayas a AEM, yo fui alumno e instructor ahí durante 3 años y te aseguro que ya no es lo que era...por calidad y seguridad de que no se vayan a pique vete a otra escuela.

Roughly translated the guy is saying that he was a student and then an instructor there for three years and he assures you that the school is not what it was... for quality and safety. Go to another school.
Now, the thread could be by someone with an axe to grind, but there isn't one comment defending them at the moment...

Wery interesting. Ive also heard this from another forum. So maybe thats how it is. Ive also heard from a unscertain source that employers in scandinavia are sceptical about pilots educated in southern europe. But that, i don't know anything about.

I atended aeromadrid last year for my ATPLs. I am from the UK. fAcilitys are second to none, with a new state of the art full motion airbus a320 sim on site. the tutors are excelent and well qualified,the fleet is huge, and there are no expense spared in the equipment and simulators for IR training, even having actual oroginal FMC modules linked to computer proggrammes to practising programming . that said, they seem to have a problem with flying in any slight bad weather. wether they have a problem with insurance im not sure as everyone else on the airfield seems to fly except aeromadrid. Have heard there have been a few problems but nothing major. Most students on the international courses are from the Netherlands and Norway.

I don't know now the true about Aeromadrid but all rumours is that has economical problem.
About fly with but weather don't worry, is another spanish rumour to discredit this school.
Aerofan and Aeromadrid try to fly to teach in all weather condition ever the airport is open.
But Cuatro Vientos has the same problem that Sabadell, is full, there is a lot of trafic. But if you want to come to Madrid to learnt ask also in Aerotec and Gestair, the first one has several bases, Palma, Madrid, Canary Island, Seville.

I am doing my ATPL in this school (Aeromadrid) and I started a few months ago. Recently, I have seen several posts about AEM, again i can affirm you that this school is facing a crisis. 
The direction has noticed it and they are trying to solve all the problems we actually have.
Before our holidays, we had an appointment with the direction.
From my point of view, you should stay away from this school til at least next year. As you may know, here in Spain things go slowly. AEM needs time to fix everything. They have already nominated a new head of training. Indeed, he is trying to help us, but unfortunately he only has two arms he is putting off fires 24/7.
This school was one of the best a few years ago, however, now it has changed a lot. I wouldn't recommend you spending a lot of money in this school. You should just be patient and check the temperature within the next months (at least 6-7)
Regarding the level of the students, i don't think that in this school it is better or worse than in the others, i know several people who finished a few months ago (even years), they got their first job after completion of their education here (Qatar, Easyjet, Ryanair etc etc...) i think their level was good enough for these companies
Here is a synopsis of several problems we have had so far: (just to have a rough idea)
I am not putting down the school but i think we should say the truth:
1) we have problems with the planes, they are 25-35 years old and they need to be revised a lot. I don't tell you how many times i couldn’t start the engine....
2) Here you have to wait for ages when you have a personal request, problems with the school, they always tell you manana manana (tomorrow, tomorrow) and you wait for weeks.
3) I have heard that some guys have problems with the ME part. just two planes (Seneca) available for several promotions….
4) Sim part: sometimes no instructors available. (= cession cancelled) I have heard again from mates.
5) We had problems with the ground classes. No teachers available. They cancelled a lot of our classes.
6) There are big gaps (flying hours) among all of us (in one promotion) then we have to wait the others and we don’t fly for weeks…..
Furthermore, i know that there are some persons from this school on PPRUNE, they try to cheer up the actual image of AEM... just ignore their posts

Thank you very much. I'll be starting on my PPL-A this year, so i wont be joining any school for atleast this year anyway. With all this in mind, i will probably ask again in a year or so

Right heres my word on aem went there 2yrs ago came out not to happy due to long waits for rostering but i could honestly say they tried there best, id say there must have been 100 students trying to fly all at once all of them pilots so always moaning moaning moaning all the students came out of aem with very good standard and everyone from my course all got jobs like the thread earlier said in very reputible airlines ie ryanair ezy quatar baltic aerlingus thomas cook sn brussels flybe and some exec flying, and air nostrum transavia so school must have done something right somewhere along the line, anyway its sad to hear the school aint doing to well but god open your eyes look around even airlines aren't doing so well.
for those of ye still down there in sunny leganes enjoy it while it lasts and the best of luck to you all

don't go to this shool now. They have problems. All students are angry. For exemple: this week only 2 planes are available for the students.
