737 NG in USA

Hi
Can someone please suggest a reputable and professional flight school in the USA to do my 737 initial type rating (NG). So many of the schools want you to sign up as a pair and I am going to be solo as I am paying for this myself (I am thinking of doing it in December 2008, if anyone is in a similar situation and wants to join me)
I have been in contact with a few schools, but am not getting much joy.
Advise and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Safe flights

Hi Fluffer,

I am also interesting in a 737 NG type rating in the US, but I am not sure to be experienced enough, I ve just finished my FAA multi IFR on a DA 42 and logged 500 flight hours total time. What is your opinion? are you also considering hours building on the 737 (eaglejet??)? It seems that middle east and Indian airlines are looking for experienced (500 hrs on type) first officers.

US 737 type

I've been looking at this also, the US type is all done on the sim, so it leaves low hour guys with a restriction on the license ( unless you already have a jet rating or 2000hrs total with 500 multi ), basically you have to do the additional base training. Any body any ideas where to do this? The restricted type would be useless for me anyway unless I could find somewhere to do the base check.

Simcentre will place you but you need to be an Indian National of a capt with 1000hrs Big Jet PIC!!!!!

I thought the eaglejet time building was only for JAA, but maybe I'm wrong.

Anybody any ideas around this stuff, or correct what info I got, please.

Hi, yeah those programs are all JAA, where I thought, ( maybe I'm wrong) that the original post was about an FAA type rating. If you have low hours like me and dont have the 2000 hrs or a jet rating prior to doing an FAA type, like the 737 then they put a restriction on the license which can be lifted by the base training i.e take offs and landings. What i was trying to find out was, if you did a FAA type say on a 737 is there anywhere you can go to do the base training cause any FAA establishments I've contacted say that they dont do that.

thanks

Aviatorisu,

Thanks for wanting to help, but let me clarify that I am not a youngster. I have +10 000TT as PIC. I now feel it's the right time to do the NG tpe rating. I just need to know of a good school as I have come across some real doozy's in the states who are not helpful and quite unprofessional. Must be my bad luck.
Any recommedations will be appreciated.

Fluff,

Also check HPA (High Power) in Dallas. I got the 73 NG type last year and it was painless. Great group of people there. HPA is an unofficial source for 73 pilots going to SWA.

Good luck,
