For any of you planning to undertake your flight training in the US on a J-1 visa, with the idea of gaining hours as an instructor, the US State Dept. has other ideas:

Of course this will be resisted by AOPA and others.

Just paraphrasing what the AOPA official said. Although making it even less attractive for foreign students to train in the US might not, in AOPAs opinion, be good for US flight schools, US GA, and AOPA membership.
