Class 1?
Hi everyone,
I just had a medical completed at work as im an airside driver. Im due to take my class 1 medical in the next two months so i know im cleared to continue my flight training. The problem is that the medical completed at work found a trace of protein in my urine test which has worried me. Does anyone know if this will stop me gaining a class 1 medical?
Thanks
Mike

Hi m8, post in the medical forum and i'm sure you will get a fast response. The first thing i would do is phone the CAA and ask them. Last year i renewed my class 1 medical and during the urine test they found 'blood' in my urine. I was totally shocked but the simple solution was to drink more water, i went back a week later and all was ok. Don't worry m8 you will be fine!

If it's a trace they might ask you to drink some water and repeat the test in 30 min.
An undetected mild bladder infection will cause a positive.
Something as simple as jogging will also do the same thing.
