Single IR to Multi IR ?
Morning,
Quick one I hope.
Can one train for the SE CPL then the SE IR and then undertake the ME rating later? Does this give you MECPL/IR with no further training required? Or would one have to undertake some further MEIR training.
I know that a CPL is a license and ME and IR are ratings but I am still bloody confused!!
Help.
Thanks

You could do a single engine CPL followed by a single engine IR. Then you would have a CPL SE IR. If you then do an MEP rating you will have a CPL MEP with a single engine IR.
To obtain a multi Engine IR you still have to sit another IR test in a multi engine aircraft. There is a mininum requirement to do at least five hours of IR training in a twin if you are conveting a single engine IR to a multi engine IR.
