belgian ATPL databank
Hi all! I tried doing a search before posting this question but couldn't find an answer!
I will be doing atpl exams next week
and while I have read all the books cover to cover, I have been training for the questions on the bristol ground school database which, as I understand, works well for atpl exams in the UK. As I am doing them in Belgium, I was wondering if anyone knows whether the belgian exam questions are based on the UK databank or if they have their own? Will I be OK using the BGS for training? (and no, I am not just memorizing answers
).

As far as I know the exams come from the same place for all the schools around the JAA.
So basically the Italian feedback,German and the rest, should be almost the same as the exams are the same.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Hi CY, thanks for the reply! but I thought that some countries (I meant the authorities where you do the exams and not the schools themselves) use specific databanks, like some countries will use the UK databank for their exams and some other countries (like holland) have their own databank where the official exams are formulated from...
(I hope what I just wrote is understandable.....)

They are supposed to be the same, but they are not necessarily. The UK ones are much more logical as there has been a determined effort this past year between the department concerned and the various CGIs to ensure that the English and the answers are as correct as possible. For example, there are no plans to go to 14 for a while yet.

hi....goona be doing my exams in Ireland and they strongly recomended to sit for refresh course on air law....instead I bought a book "Irish Aviation law for pilots" but didn't manage to find anything extraodinary. I also reviewed Oxford, Bristol, Norway, Italian, German question databases and they are 95% identical.

the flyingexam databank is pretty much identical to the Bristol one as far as I can make out, id just go for that one on its own to be honest as they've split the questions up into subject areas, Bristol doesnt so finding questions on eg. Gyros is a search based lottery. Aviation exam has far too many questions in my opinion, and the interface looks poor, especially if you have a bad internet connection like mine. With bristol and FE you download all the questions at the start, so it doesnt matter if your connection is ropey, with aviation exam each question requires a separate page load.

Greg - not really - Bristol have it pretty much sewn up, except that there are some questions that will not be asked that they haven't caught up with yet! Especially on the helicopter side! 
We recommend aviationexam for our students who are taking their exams in their own country. This of course makes it doubly difficult for people whose native language is not English and who are trying to make sense of the awful language in the questions!
Richie - this is where the difference is - the questons may look identical, but Bristol's have been modified to match the UK type of question, i.e with corrected answers and English.

Great stuff and thanks for the info. One last question though. Recently with subjects such as POF and GNAV it has been suggested that there were numerous questions that were not in Bristol's database. I'm guessing that new questions have been introduced into the syllabus possibly from CQB14?
If so, are these questons likely to be in the aviationexam list as they do have some CQB14 stuff according to them.
