Hey Guys Well heres my situation sorry if i Blab on, its Complicated)
I Have Dual Citizenship Being Irish and British, im 17 in august, so anyways i move around the world every 2-3 years except for now, im currently based in Houston, Texas with my family but as you all know training here for FAA is pointless since i cant be a Pilot in the us with a lack of permanent Residence.I would like to go to college around this area but at the same time do my training, and i was thinking of Canada, do you know if i were to do my training in Canada and do my degree(Bachelors) that i would be able to receive the rights to work as a pilot in Canada, and if working in Canada as a pilot is worth it such as right amount of jobs(I know its cheaper) if you guys have any other suggestions for other countries or a path i should take it would be greatly appreciated!

You are correct saying that working in the US is not a great long term solution as if you are there with your parents as a dependent, you cannot remain after your 21st birthday.
One thing to bear in mind though is that FAA certificates are very easily converted to their Transport Canada Equivilents, conversion consists of a short test, medical and some paperwork so there is no reason that you can't benefit from the extensive training avaliable in the USA with a view to working in Canada later.
With regard to permenent residence, having a degree does not mean automatic permenent residence but it does help. Canada works on the basis of a points system, on which you are likley to score well because of you age and will improve a great deal with a degree, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp for more info. Bear in mind that processing times for this can be as long as 2 years so best to get organized.

The beauty of Canada if you are footloose is that there are a good range of entry level jobs on turboprops and smaller, particually in the cold north where road transport is long and inefficient. A floatplane rating is also helpful. Downsides are that pay is not great and taxes are fairly high. Have heard that the quality of living in Canada is excellent though.

Thanks for the Great Info! I Appreciate it, ill be having a good few reads of that tonight and ill be looking around the forum as well! Im guessing that jobs in Canada come by easier then back home in the u.k? Thats the primary reason im looking at Canada.
