Hour building around Miami, FL
Hi can anyone recommend a school/flying club etc. around Miami, FL, USA, where to do hour building for a PPL to get the 150 hours to start CPL?
Orlando is not a valid answer. By "around" I mean a place that can be reached from Miami airport in max 1 hour with public transport (no taxi).
Thanks

Hi
well I lived around there off + on for some time, and have done most of my flying in Florida.
Firstly, you will need a car...! The 2 closest airports with general aviation facilities are Homestead to the south, and Opa Locka to the north, neither of which can be accessed with public transport.
I can't speak for Homestead as I never used any school there, but my experiences at Opa Locka were not great.
For rental, Ft Lauderdale is better (where I lived). Check this school out

They have an excellent fleet, and you can schedule online with them too, see which aircraft are available etc.
If you really don't want to rent a car, I would suggest staying around there (it is Fort Lauderdale Executive airport).
There is also, between Miami and Ft Lauderdale, North Perry airport. Check these guys out

They have the katana to fly which I thoroughly enjoy, and are run by a very nice British couple, Mr + Mrs Fensome. Meg will help in any way she can.

I can't offer any type of information, but what about Tamiami Airport-that is pretty close to Miami.

yes, how could I forget Tamiami airport..! I've even landed there couple times..!
Not used any schools there, so can't comment. It is definetley closer to downtown Miami, but I still doubt reachable by public transport.
