Converting to MD83 from MD80 how,where please

Hiya Guy and Gals

Any of you know if a pilot has an MD80 type rating does he/she need to acquiring a brand new MD83 type rating or is there a familiarisation course that can be done if so where could they do it and how much is it.

If a Brand new MD83 TR is required which I hope its not, then where would be the cheapest place to get it done and how long is the course usually, many thanks in advanced.
