Jaa Atpl

Hi

This could make me look VERY VERY silly - but i need to ask as i simply dont know!

a JAA ATPL - is this the same as a JAR ATPL.

I have been on many websites, and somtimes i see frozen ATPL, JAA ATPL, JAR ATPL..

are these all the same thing?

What actually is difference between JAA and JAR????

many thanks

JAA is the name of the authority, Joint Aviation Authority, whereas JAR is Joint aviation Regulations.

yes they are the same thing.

You obtain a JAA ATPL under JAR-FCL (flight crew licencing) regulations i believe.

prepared for corrections
