Cost of a dash-8 type rating
Hello everyone what a great forum for aviation enthusiasts to exchange ideas about whats going on in the industry! I am a fully qualified commercial pilot I have a 1900 rating and have been looking for a job for the past six months with no success am looking to get a dash-8 type rating to improve my prospects of getting a job ,any one with an idea of how much it would set me back to get a dash-8 rating series 100-300? a

Flybe bond for the q400 is £13,500
BA citiexpress bond their pilots for £12,500 for a Q 300 type rating
Costs should be in the same league as an ATR type rating which should be around 13-15000 pounds

new money for old acft
Air Southwest only want £20k for their Dash 8 300
only £7k above market
...and if you are lucky enough to get a job with them they'll bond you for 5 years with a salary of £19k p/a no diems. Go figure.
Sounds like someone is taking the p**s out of desparate new starters.
