When can I log x-country time?

Hi,

I'm wondering which flights count as cross country time. Is a any minimum distance for such a flight? Just curious 'cause I'm trying to get my time for the IR together.

Thanks for your help.

Regards. David

I believe it's 3nm from the field for JAA and 50nm for FAA.

As far as I know it's any time you leave the circuit of an airfield.

Sorry forgot to mention: It's about the FAA regulations.
Anyone knows for sure? Couldn't find the page in the FAR/AIM.
During my PPL, my CFI didn't let me log x-country time everytime we flew to our training airport (KIMM) from Naples (KAPF), which is 26.2nm. So I think there must be min. distance.

For the FAA IR, cross country is landing at an airfield more than 50nm+ straight line distance from the departure airfield.
