pc software for IR procedures

hi all

can anyone recommend any software to start familiarizing myself with some ir procedures as well as any advice on control consoles. is RANT or ms fs2004/fx any good?

RANT is by far one of the best IR training sims you can get. Not cheap, (around £90 - £100) but well worth it. Try your local flying clubs or maybe local flying instructors who may have a copy they might be willing to sell/loan.

Have a look at nav2go.net as well, cheaper and not quite as sophisticated as RANT but nevertheless effective and a demo is available
