Some questions about licenses
Hi,
I'm a student from Malaysia and are interested to step into the aviation industry. Training as a pilot here at Malaysia are really costly. Therefore I decided to train as a commercial pilot at Australia. But I'm facing a few problem with licenses issued from different bodies and government.
To fly in Malaysia or work for a local airline here requires a "CAA" license.
Can anyone tell me how can i convert a Austalia Commercial Pilot license(CPL) or a Airline Transport license(ATPL) to a CAA license?
And some said both Malaysia and Australia are under ICAO, no license conversion are needed. Is that true?
Also, is the Instrument Rating (IR) done in Australia doesn't recognized in Malaysia?
Please help me out with my problem. I will glad too to receive any opinion. Thanks in advance.
Regards.

You should read this thread: http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthr...hreadid=134076. One thing though: When you write 'CAA licence' are you referring to the Malaysian aviation authority (whatever it might be called) or the UK's aviation authority?
