Cost difference between OAT and Cabair

Hi guys,

I am thinking about doing the full-time ATPL residential course early next year and would like to know why Oxford is so much more expensive than Cabair. Just for the course it's around £2,000 more. The accommodation is slightly more expensive too, but why does Oxford charge so much for the same course? What does Oxford provide that Cabair doesn't?

Any feedback would be great.

I could try and find the additional costs versus the "extras" that Oxford offer over Cabair.
Oxford is by definition, more expensive full-stop.
I think that Cabair is approximately £55K whereas Oxford is £63K these days.
Not sure where you get your 2K difference.
However, here's a bit of small from Cabair regarding examinations....
JAA Examination and Flight Test, Licence Issue Fees.
These are currently £840 for the first attempt at 14 Theory examinations (£60 per subject),
£691 for the final Instrument Rating Skill Test and
£315 for CPL/IR Licence and Class Rating issue. There is no VAT on JAA charges.

That's where your 2K is anyway!
Oxford include the above costs as part of the total course fees.

Sorry i didn't explain myself very well. At this stage i am only interested in doing the ATPL theory course. Take aside any practical flying and the ATPL theory residential course is £2,000 more expensive at Oxford than Cabair

Save yourself £2,000 then and do it at Cabair.

Everyone uses Bristol Feedback anyway.....

My bold - it is quite amusing at OAT prior to exams seeing everyone on the Bristol database...

It's heart-breaking actually.

All that ground school, late nights, working your b******s off, only to find the sure-fire way to ensure your brain can learn the volume of info in the short timeframe is to pay £50 and learn the answers.....

rubbish.

And those that "just learn" tend to know sod all when it comes to the flying.
